Dr. Elson Mathew Thomas

Dr. Elson Mathew Thomas was born and raised in Houston, Texas.

He attended the University of California, Berkeley where studied chemical engineering and molecular & cell biology.

He then returned to Houston to conduct molecular biology studies in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Medicine under Jose Lopez, MD, PhD.

He then studied medicine and received his doctorate of medicine (MD) from the University of Texas, Medical School at San Antonio. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas, Medical School at Houston. He completed his fellowship in nephrology at the University of Texas, Medical School at Houston.

Dr Thomas is dually board certified in nephrology & internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been practicing nephrology & internal medicine since 2012.
